Able currently offers the most inexpensive Japanese language classes of any major school in the Hiroshima area. Our concept is simple: provide good language instruction at an affordable price.
We are centrally located in Kanayama-cho (銀山町) in downtown Hiroshima. We are on the main streetcar line, about two minutes' walk from the Kanayama-cho streetcar stop. Please take a look at the map for more details.
Our price for most 50-minute, private Japanese lessons is ¥2400. That's better than you're going to find anywhere else. And our teachers are very experienced and qualified, all of them having specialized language and/or linguistics training.
We also offer group lessons for up to four people at a time, but our experience has been that most students are happiest with a one-on-one format. Nonetheless, if you want to study together with someone and take a group lesson, the prices are:
2-person group - ¥1700/person3-person group - ¥1500/person
4-person group - ¥1300/person
All of the information necessary for you to make an informed decision is right here, on the Internet, so that you don't have to waste time and deal with a lot of salespeople. The Director of Able, Chris Chardon, has spent a long time in Japan and is very experienced in the ways that the major schools here hype themselves and try to hard-sell clients. We do not do that here. If you come in for a trial lesson, we'll ask you how you liked it and perhaps discuss what your goals are for learning the language. We do not have a standardized curriculum that we try to make students conform to. There are several reasons for this, the main one being that every student is different and has different learning styles and needs. If you'd like to study using a particular text, we can of course provide classes using that text, but we won't try to sell you something (usually an inferior product) just to pad the school's coffers.
We also do not artificially inflate our prices so that we can run "campaigns" and/or offer bogus discounts. Our prices are fair and stable from month to month.
