Able’s Head Teacher is Ms. Izumi Fujii. With seven years of continuous experience teaching Japanese, the chances are very good that she has already encountered — and solved — whatever problems you may be experiencing with the language.
Fujii-sensei has been certified as a Teacher of the Japanese Language by the Human Academy. This course of study requires 420 hours of exposure to various teaching sub-disciplines, including Japanese history, practice using a variety of teaching methods, and technical linguistics training in phonetics and syntax.
Fujii-sensei has taught people from diverse linguistic backgrounds, both Westerners and Asian, and at all levels, in both groups and individual classes. Her lessons are fun and informative, and Able has received unsolicited praise from many of her students.

This is Ms. Kimiko Arakado, one of Able’s Japanese language teachers, making the complex simple for her students. Arakado-sensei is one of a staff of three Japanese language teachers here.
Arakado-sensei first taught at Able on a part-time basis in 2001, then went abroad to teach at the University of Thailand in Chenmai for a year as a guest lecturer. Upon returning to Japan in 2003, she worked at a juku teaching kokugo, or classical Japanese. She has a deep interest in language instruction, and a wealth of experience teaching both native and non-native speakers.
Students are uniformly appreciative of her lesson style, which combines a friendly and professional presentation with an individual touch. No matter what a student’s level is, Arakado-sensei is able to communicate the principles of Japanese with clarity and in an entertaining manner.
If you feel that your Japanese isn’t what it ought to be, why not contact us for a trial lesson? It’s free, and there’s no hard-sell afterwards.
